Carolyn (Aubrey)'s Story
I went to college in Oklahoma and met a wonderful guy who "took me west". Clear to the very southwest corner of Kansas! I was never going to be a Kansan or marry a "farmer"! However, he was a rancher/irrigation farmer of the big wide open, flat spaces. Different than slopping pigs etc. I would have gone to the ends of the earth with him. Little did we dream we would barely have 39 years together, before acute pancreatitis took his life!
I have loved it here and the people in this part of the country are wonderful and special! I am still here, by myself, thinking I would gladly relocate if the right reason came along.
I substitute teach, as I have always loved to work with children and teens, although I didn't have to work outside the home until I chose to after Don's death.

s busy with grand children's ball games, plays, musicals, my Women's Bible Studies, parties with friends, ladies luncheons, running the business, travel, keeping a huge lawn watered and groomed plus the flower beds. (Also gives me a nice tan in the summer.)I have one daughter and her family who still live in this area and I frequently cook for them, as well as being faithful to my church. I like to travel and have been as far away as Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I have one son and two daughters plus spouses and 9 grandchildren plus 3 greats. One daughter and her children are living and teaching in Bangkok.
I have had silver hair since I was about 50. Take after my Mother's side, with her Mother being silver headed at 30. It has/is my trademark. Hard to remember having any other color.
